Head of Actuarial, EB Opportunity

Elliott Bauer have just concluded a meeting with the executives of a leading employee benefits group in the UK, we now seek a commercially focused Head of Actuarial to take responsibility for P&L, driving and growing the UK arm, as well as acting with Scheme Actuarial responsibilities.  

The Senior Director has restructured the leadership team, and a new role has been created to take on internal management responsibilities, in addition to driving the business. We seek an individual who is commercially focused, has previous experience managing finances, be dynamic and a go-getter. This company continues to look at their position in the market, and how it can continue to adapt, change and most importantly, innovate. As such, we require an experienced actuary who is not afraid of change, and is looking for an environment where they can influence, drive and create change; including creating new propositions, revenue streams and offerings. 

However, we are interested in having an individual with a scheme certificate, and about 40-50% of their time will be spent taking on scheme actuarial duties. It has been recognised that an individual who is creating change, who also has a hand in the day to day work, will have a strong understanding of how the changes will affect other colleagues. 
If possible, we seek an individual who can be the face of the company, a spokesperson to represent the group, and champion the brand. 

This role is primarily based in London, but will have UK wide responsibilities. Therefore some travel will be required. 

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Actuary with at least 10 years post-qualified experience, operating at a senior management level and ideally with some experience with revenue targets. You will ideally be commercially focused, have  big-picture thinking, and be an ideas-person, not afraid of change and able to influence.
